* Nine
November 16 - December 1, 2012

Guido Contini, an Italian film director whose reputation and success precede him, is surrounded by fame, romance, and hedonism in 1960s Venice. Nearing his 40th birthday, Guido’s creative voice is strangled by mid-life crisis and inspires self-sabotage, existential impasse, emotional affairs, and philandering. This need to rediscover himself and his work endangers both his profession and marriage, as the many women in his life become his salvation, his destruction, and ultimately his muses. With a lush score by Maury Yeston and book by Arthur Kopit, Nine is based on Fellini's semi-autobiographical movie "8 1/2".
